Lawn Care – Nutsedge Application
Nutsedge Application
TODAY’S VISIT
What was done?
Today we applied a post emergent herbicide targeting Nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus).
What is Nutsedge?
Nutsedge is a perennial, grass like lawn weed. Although it resembles grass blades, it is thicker and lighter green or yellow in color. It grows faster in hot weather than the rest of the lawn. Moist soil conditions are preferable for nutsedge to thrive, but it can also occur in dry soil. It thrives in areas with poor drainage or compacted soil.
What you can expect from today’s application?:
Yellowing and browning usually occurs within 10-14 days of application. It may take an additional 2 weeks before the nutsedge dies off.
What you can do to benefit most from today’s visit:
Do not mow for 48 hours after application. You can help control nutsedge by maintaining a lawn height of at least 3”. Adding an aeration and overseed to your lawn care program will give nutsedge strong healthy competition. Call us for a free estimate!
