Resume Tips

Your resume is a great way for us to get a quick idea of who you are. We will probably spend about 30-60 seconds reading your resume so you want it to be short (1 page if possible) and provide as much relevant information in that space telling us about who you are.

Even if you don’t have past job experience, you have had experiences. Tell us what you have done that shows you are a self-starter and can persevere and achieve a goal. Did you play an instrument or a sport through high school? Did you work part-time while going through school? Tell us about when you have gone above and beyond what is required. This can be at a job, in school, extra-curricular activities, helping someone, working in a family business, or something else.

Also explain what interests you about Green Giant. Why do you want to work here? If you are looking for an outdoors position, maybe you have worked on a farm or for a landscaper and enjoyed it. Maybe you really like people and want a job where you have interaction with customers and co-workers on a frequent basis. Or, maybe you prefer to work by yourself and would like to have your own lawn care or tree care route where you are primarily working on your own most days.

Have you done anything entrepreneurial? If so, tell us about it.

Have you had past experience where you had quotas you had to reach? Explain how that went. Did you meet & exceed the expectations? These are all just examples and we want you to tell us about yourself. There is no right or wrong here.
